Description
Day 1: Tokyo
On the first day, we'll pick you up after you touch down at Tokyo International Airport. From there, we'll accompany you to your hotel via public transport. After leaving your bags, you can finally begin exploring the Japanese capital for yourself! After a delicious dinner, we'll bid you farewell until the next day.
Day 2: Tokyo
After you have had your breakfast, we'll spend the second day of our tour of Japan by truly getting to know the nation's capital in all of it's splendour.
Along the tour, we'll visit some of the most iconic places and monuments of Tokyo, including the Shinto shrine of Meiji Jingu, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, the Asakusa district with its Senso-ji temple or the fashionable Harajuku district, among many others.
After the guided tour of the city, you'll enjoy a delicious lunch, following which you'll have the afternoon free to continue discovering Tokyo at your own pace.
Day 3: Tokyo - Kawaguchiko - Mount Fuji
On our third day, we'll depart from Tokyo and drive to Arakurayama Sengen Park, where we'll enjoy the best views of Mount Fuji and snap a few photos!
We'll then continue our journey to Kawaguchiko, a beautiful lake town that also has excellent views of Mount Fuji. While we're here, we'll go on a boat trip around the lake! We'll then take a bus to Mount Fuji, Japan's tallest and most iconic mountain.
We'll end the day by returning to Kawaguchiko to enjoy a delicious dinner and stay in a traditional ryokan.
Day 4: Kawaguchiko - Iyashinosato - Kyoto
On our fourth day, we'll make our way toward Iyashinosato, a picturesque Japanese village with beautiful traditional architecture located on the slopes of Mount Fuji.
From Iyashinosato, we'll drive to the breathtaking Shiraito waterfall, which measures 24 metres (78 ft) in height!
We'll continue our fourth day in the Nagoya region with a visit to the famous Toyota Museum. We'll arrive in Kyoto in the late afternoon.
Day 5: Kyoto
We'll spend our fifth day visiting the main monuments of the city of Kyoto. We'll pass by Nijō Castle (one of the most important palaces of the former imperial city), the Kinkaku-ji temple (the Golden Pavillion), and Ginkaku-ji (the Silver Pavilion).
Afterward, we'll enter the famous Arashiyama bamboo forest, where we'll see bamboo measuring over 20 metres (65 ft)!
In the evening, we'll take you to the Gion district, famous for its geisha.
Day 6: Kyoto - Nara - Osaka
On day 6, we'll move on from Kyoto and head to the city of Nara and visit the Buddhist temple of Tōdai-ji, which houses an incredible giant statue of the Vairocana Buddha.
After the visit, we'll enjoy a delicious lunch typical of the region and continue the visit at Hōryū-ji. This Buddhist temple has the oldest wooden buildings in the world - you'll love it!
To end the day, we'll arrive in Osaka and stroll through Dotonbori, a beautiful area lit up with neon lights.
Day 7: Osaka - Himeji - Okayama
In the morning, we'll travel to Himeji, a city halfway between Kyoto and Hiroshima, to take a cable car up to Mount Shosha to see its remarkable temples, one of which was built over 1000 years ago.
We'll then make our way to the stunning Himeji Castle, which was named a national treasure of Japan and a World Heritage Site!
We'll stop for a delicious lunch and then travel to Okayama. There we'll visit the Korakuen Garden, one of the most beautiful in Japan.
Day 8: Okayama - Kurashiki - Hiroshima
First thing in the morning, after you have had your breakfast, the tour will continue on to Kurashiki, a city famous for its beautiful canals.
The next stop is Hiroshima, which is home to some of the most striking sites in the country, such as the Peace Memorial Park and the Atomic Bomb Museum. We'll then take a ferry to the island of Miyajima, where we'll see its temple partially built over the sea.
Finally, we'll enjoy a delicious dinner and say our goodbyes until the next day.
Day 9: Hiroshima
On the last day, after you have had your breakfast, we'll conclude our fantastic 9-day tour of Japan. See you again soon!
