Sushi-Making Workshop
Workshop Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Izumiya Akasaka building, and we'll get ready to become true itamaes, Japanese chefs. Time to put on your chef's hat and apron and kick off this sushi-making workshop!
We'll start the class with the preparation of sushi rice, learning the secrets of a perfect shari, one of the key elements. Did you know that the way you shape it can completely change the taste? Once you've mastered this step, you'll be halfway to being a true itamaes.
Then, you'll be challenged to grate freshly made authentic wasabi and experience its unique taste—pay attention to the chef and do it carefully! If not, expect the tears to start flowing!
We'll continue with the preparation of hand-rolled sushi with nori, using fresh ingredients. You'll have the opportunity to taste and sample an exquisite selection including uni, negitoro, hirame, kuruma-ebi, chutoro and akami sushi. In addition, you'll be treated to professional demonstrations of fish preparation and various sushi techniques by a professional chef with an interpreter, so you won't miss a single detail.
To complement this culinary experience, you'll enjoy a special wakame udon and a complimentary drink of your choice between beer, sake, cola or green tea.
Before the end of our workshop, which lasts approximately 2 hours, you'll be able to head up to the counter and take some photos to remember the experience by.
